As the price of Ripple elevated, Matthew put his money\ninto more number of Ripple. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As\nMatthew held more Ripple, he stored his assets in various cold wallets across\nthe globe to safeguard them against any hacks or breaches. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Smart\nenough, right?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Being\na millionaire, Matthew was well-versed efficient management of his crypto\nassets. He kept his wallets\u2019 codes safe in his head, restricting access to\nwallets to himself only. No one, but only Matthew could access his wallets and\ncrypto assets stored in them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But,\nnow even Matthew Mellon cannot access his assets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Why?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because\nhe died of a heart attack on April 16, 2018; and as he died, so did his $500\nmillion XRP. Although Ripple is still there in his wallets, unfortunately, no one\nknows the code to access those wallets as the code was stored only in Matthew\u2019s\nbrain. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Matthew\u2019s\nincident may be the first instance of a rich family losing their cryptocurrencies\nbut it is not the first time someone relied on a single private key to secure\nan account on the blockchain. M depicts the number\nof signatures or private keys and N refers to the total number of signatures or\nprivate keys involved in a transaction.
